Maximum strength training will improve power and explosiveness

Training for maximal strength in exercises like the back squat will help athletes to produce greater power and explosiveness in athletic movements. A recent study demonstrated that having a higher 1 repetition maximum (1 RM) will enable muscles to create a greater force at higher velocity thereby creating more explosive power.
